Our client has a high consciousness on maintaining the health of our environment and developing recyclable materials. A need for a Material Engineer has been identified in the R&D team in the Asia office at Dongguan, China.
Step Up is inviting candidates who are passionate about improving performance and create new materials to help advance technologies or products. You will need an understanding of the properties and behaviours of different substances of polymers, from raw materials to finished products.
There's always a need for materials to have better durability or strength and to be more cost effective to help with various processes and products. In your role, you will develop, select, assess and test materials on their durability, renewability, and resistance capability. It is also important for you to consider the implications for waste and other environmental issues of the product and process.
Advising and helping customers and factories on new processes and materials, you will work to solve problems arising during the manufacturing process or with the finished product, such as those caused by daily wear and tear or a change of environment, and liaise with production and quality teams.
An ideal candidate should have a degree in chemistry or equivalent, and sound engineering science knowledge. A good and confident team player who could communicate and interact effectively with their counterparts. You are a person with analytical thinking, organizational skills and attention to details. Knowledge of manufacturing production and process or laboratory experience would be definite an advantageous.
