Our client is a leader in impact protection material production. They are seeking a self-motivated candidate with a sourcing/purchasing background and an interest in building a business portfolio for the company. The role involves working alongside the Production Director, Asia Pacific.

Responsibilities include providing key support to the Supply Chain team, coordinating and completing sourcing projects, and optimizing supply chain activities. This involves material development support with new material suppliers, negotiations on cost, minimum order quantity, strategy, and the identification of alternative suppliers. The focus is on pricing and supply chain-related matters rather than the technical aspects.

Other responsibilities include sourcing product factories for new and existing technology, cost reduction efforts with existing suppliers, participating in local trade shows, and enrolling new suppliers in the new supplier approval process. Due diligence checks on potential/new business partners and the creation and maintenance of a supplier database are also part of the role. Additionally, you will be responsible for identifying potential OEM commercial partners and facilitating sales.

The ideal candidate should have 3-4 years of sourcing experience and be highly organized, efficient in time management, and able to work independently in a fast-paced and expanding business. Experience in creating new business is highly preferred. Strong Excel skills and sensitivity to figures are essential. Proficiency in Business English with good written and oral communication skills, a high attention to detail, a process-driven mindset, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are also required. Travel to local partners in Asia may be necessary.
